Over 65,000 real fault case studies, already solved

Every fault in the database has actually been solved in a workshop. You do not lose time on guesswork and trial and error: you find the diagnostic path that has already led to the solution.

How it works

From the problem to the solution

From the vehicle on the ramp to the repair, with a technician on hand when the sheet is not enough.

01 Identification

Identify the vehicle in seconds

Enter the number plate or the VIN. Sema Repair identifies the vehicle and takes you straight to the information you need.

Technical sheets, fault cases and related content are already filtered to the right configuration, so you can start the diagnosis at once.

  • Search by number plate
  • Search by VIN (VIN)
  • Manual selection by make, model and engine

02 Analysis

Three ways to find the right case study

Every diagnosis starts from a different piece of information. That is why Sema Repair lets you look for the right case in whichever way you prefer: by symptom, by fault code or by vehicle system.

  • By symptom — what you can see on the vehicle
Type what you can see: ‘engine warning light on’, ‘loss of power’, ‘smoke from the exhaust’. Useful when the diagnostic tool returns nothing clear.
  • By fault code — the diagnostic trouble code
Enter the code read in diagnosis (P0299, P24AE or C1418, for example) and see every case study in which it appears, including those linked to other related codes.
  • By system — the area of the vehicle
Browse the case studies organised by vehicle system and quickly pick out the ones relevant to the area affected by the fault.
03 Resolution

A complete sheet, from diagnosis to repair

Every case follows the same structure, so you find the information you need straight away without wasting time looking for it.

  • Applicability — versions and trim levels
Check at once which versions and trim levels the case applies to.
  • System and component — system and component
Pin down the system and the component involved.
  • Fault — how it shows up
Find out how the fault shows itself.
  • Faults read by the diagnostic tool — associated codes
    Consult every associated fault code.
  • Cause — the origin of the problem
Trace the real origin of the problem.
  • Reliability rating — where the sheet comes from
A one to three star rating showing how thoroughly the case has been verified, from a report by a vehicle repairer through to confirmation by the manufacturer.
  • Repair procedure — the job step by step
Follow the job step by step with indicative times, working notes and images.
04 Support

A technician at your side, when you really need one

The database helps you solve most faults.

For the more complex ones you can count on our technical support service.

You send in the case, we analyse it together and we support you step by step in the search for the cause and the solution.

Because the aim is not to answer a request, but to help you complete the repair.

The additional data

Not just faults. Everything you need to complete the repair.

Diagnosis is only the first step. To complete the repair you need reliable technical information, all of it already tied to the same vehicle.

01 Fuse box

Fuse boxes and relays

For every engine you quickly locate the fuse boxes directly on the vehicle diagram. For each one you get the complete map of fuses and relays with identification number, description and rating.

  • The position of the boxes directly on the vehicle diagram.
  • A graphical diagram of the fuses and relays so you find the right one at once.
  • Identification number, description and rating for every position, including the unused ones.
02 Diagnosis

Diagnostic socket and pinout

Find the position of the OBD socket on the vehicle at once and consult the full connector pinout, with the function of every pin set out: CAN, earth, power supply and much more.

  • Immediate location of the OBD socket on the vehicle.
  • Connector type and number of pins.
  • The function of every pin, broken down by communication protocol.
